Benefits of Membership

Have you considered becoming your own publisher? You may be able to produce the book of your dreams and sell it to the world. But you'll have to work hard, and you'll probably need to learn a lot.

The St. Louis Publishers Association (SLPA) can introduce you to people who have successfully published their books. Also, we can begin to acquaint you with the publishing process.

As a member of the St. Louis Publishers Association you will receive:

• Free attendance at the monthly meetings for networking and a 1-2 hour publishing program.

• A free subscription to the St. Louis Publishers Association News & Views, the monthly newsletter of the association.

• Discounted membership fees in the Publishers Marketing Association (PMA) and in the Small Publishers Association of North America (SPAN).

• Free or discounted attendance fees to publishing seminars and educational programs sponsored by SLPA, PMA or SPAN.

• Low cost participation in group marketing and promotional programs to help you get exposure for your products or services.

• Discounts from vendors who may offer specials from time to time to members of SLPA.

• Announcement of your new releases in News & Views, SLPA's monthly newsletter.

• Tips and information about book reviewers, special programs for publishers just starting a business, book distribution, book marketing and more.

Costs of Membership

ANNUAL MEMBER
Entitles member to one year (12 months) of full membership privileges, including catalog and directory inclusion, free admission to monthly meetings, reduced registration fees to any SLPA seminars/events, membership discounts with our affiliated national associations (PMA and SPAN) and promotional or coop opportunities. Annual dues are renewable one year from the date the member has paid. (Join in January 2007, renew in January 2008. Join in April 2007, renew in April 2008.) We offer a Tiered Annual Membership:

2007 Annual Membership
Full member fee: $72 per yr
2nd member of company: $48 per yr
Student fee: $48 per yr

MONTHLY MEMBER

This monthly membership can be paid on the spot at any single meeting and is a great way to check us out. If you decide to join at that meeting, your fee can be applied to an annual membership.

Please note: A monthly membership does NOT entitle the member to any of the Annual Membership benefits outside of that one monthly meeting. (no event discounts, catalog listing, etc.) The Monthly membership is NOT a Tiered membership.

2007 Monthly Membership
Monthly Member fee: $6 per mtg (replaces the old guest fee)
Second member of company: $6 per mtg
Student fee: $6 per mtg
